Network for "Outland" Researchers

This is a general invitation to researchers of different disciplines with an interest in outland use (see the discussion). The aim is to form an international cross-scientific network for outland research. The network will be organized as a mail list for information, discussion and contacts. It is therefore essential that the members of the network are active and pass on the information of the existence of the mail list to other researchers that might be interested. In continuation of the aim is also to organize international outland conferences. Such a conference has already taken place in 1996 in Sweden, cf. the book

Andersson, H., Ersgård, L., & Svensson, E. (ed.), 1998:
Outland Use in Preindustrial Europe, Lund & Stockholm.

• New Web Address soon! The Utmark website will soon be found at a new address. Please update your bookmarks to www.arstuga.se/outland
  (The site is still not transferred there but will be shortly.) This also means that contact info as of this page and maybe also the mailing list address will change. But we will have to come back on that later on.

• New Utmark publication: "Utmark" The Outfield as Industry and Ideology in the Iron Age and the Middle Ages UBAS (University of Bergen Archaeological Series), International 1. Contains articles from the Utmark conference in Bergen 25-28 Sept 2003.
